Add your reviewPale maroon in color, the nose on this wine shows sour cherry, rosehips, cardamom and delicate dusty wood. In the mouth this is a wine with impeccable acidity that is juicy and fresh. Wafting spices linger in my mouth at the finish like a kitchen in the midsts of dinner. Fresh cherry flavors with a vibrancy and balance that makes me smile. Near perfect wine.
Alluring silky nose of spice, sweet, fruit, floral in excellent balance. In the mouth black and red fruit, berry cherry, smooth and silky with round tannins, everything well-integrated. Finishes with has a metallic or minerally fruity kick. Medium to light body, medium acid. Approx 80% tempranillo.
This is supposed to be great rioja. I found it too acid/sour. Definitely would not pay 50 for this again.
92 points Jay Miller (Wine Advocate): The 2000 Prado Enea Gran Reserva is 80% Tempranillo with the balance Garnacha, Mazuela, and Graciano. The wine is aged for one year in oak vats followed by 3 years in new French oak followed by 3 years in bottle prior to release. Dark ruby-colored, the wines appearance reveals a bit of age in a traditional style. It offers up a complex bouquet of cedar, pencil lead, mineral, spice box, and blackberry. On the palate it is elegant with ample sweet, ripe fruit, good flavors and moderate length. Drink it through 2015. (Feb 2008)`

This traditional Rioja is rich and velvety smooth with fine, dusty tannins and showing black cherry and hints of cassis. It has an earthy side with accents of tar, licorice and a slight bit of mushroom.
