Mud House Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2010

External Review by Premier Wine & Spirits:

Former farmer and businessman John Joslin cruised the world by boat for six years with his wife, Jennifer, before settling in New Zealand. they traded in the yacht for 20 acres of land in Marlborough and bottled their first vintage in 1996. The Joslins maintain hands-on involvement in the business, relying on winemaker Allen Hedgman and viticulturist Malcolm Adams for the production of this vibrant, fruit-centered white.

Pineapple and gooseberry aromas lifted by a light peppery element. Simple and juicy, with tropical melon and gooseberry flavors offering moderate complexity. Finishes distinctly firm-edged, with bracing notes of pineapple, grapefruit and gooseberry.

Vibrant and intense, with fine focus to the grass, grapefruit, line and subtle guava flavors. Lead pencil extends through the finish. Drink now.

Restrained nose hints at pineapple and gooseberry. Nicely fleshy and ripe on the palate, with an enticing sweetness leavened by notes of grapefruit, anise and pepper. Well-made, persistent sauvignon with good stuffing.
