Mt. Jagged Shiraz Southern Fleurieu Reserve Single Vineyard 2005

Member Review by Juanky1989:

Garnet in color, a little brownish toward the rim. This wine is very powerful on the nose with aromas of eucaliptus, pine, Black olives, Prosciutto, black licorice, crush rocks and vainilla. On the palad is almost full body and adding also lavander and tar. The alcohol is well integrated even though is 14%. Is very crisp and has a long finish and reminds me of Cote Du Rotie This wine is 98% Shiras and 2% Viognier

Mt Jagged Wines is situated at the highest point on the Victor Harbor Road, only 20 minutes from McLaren Vale and Victor Harbor. Established in 1989, Tod and Suzanne Warmer acquired Mt Jagged Wines in 2013 after a major lifestyle sea change. With their hands on approach, they can be found at the cellar door and in the vineyard providing visitors with their personal insights into vineyard life and where their wines come from. The cellar door is surrounded by panoramic lookout views of the vineyard flowing down the hillside with Lake Alexandrina gleaming over the hilltops, the Coorong and its sandhills and a large sweep of the Southern Ocean. At 320 metres above sea level, Mt Jagged is classified as a cool climate winery typified by warm days and cool evening breezes flowing from the Southern Ocean up the Currency Creek valley. This provides for a longer ripening period, creating wines of deep complexity and real varietal characteristics. Read less
