Mouton Rothschild Pcpb France 1971

Winemaker's Notes:

1er Cru Classé

Château Mouton-rothschild:
Since 1933, Baron Philippe de Rothschild SA, located at Pauillac in the Médoc, has been motivated by a constant ambition: to make the world's finest wines, each in its own category, whether the châteaux wines for which it is responsible – the renowned Château Mouton Rothschild, a First Growth, and its distinguished lieutenants, Château Clerc Milon and Château d'Armailhac – or branded wines, like the famous Mouton Cadet.

Tasted 2/26/11, This wine has had virually perfect storage by the original buyer. The ullage was just below the neck. The wine was terrific. Nice earth and spice, red fruit notes, some chocolate. Excellent balance. A hit for all 6 who shared it in a night with other Bordeaux and a couple of great Burgundies including a 1995 DRC St-Vivant.
