Viña Almaviva:
In 1997, Baroness Philippine de Rothschild, Chairman of the Advisory Board of Baron Philippe de Rothschild SA, and Eduardo Guilisasti Tagle, Chairman of Viña Concha y Toro S.A., sealed a partnership agreement with a view to create an exceptional Franco-Chilean wine called Almaviva. Produced under the joint technical supervision of both partners, the first vintage achieved immediate international success upon its launch in 1998.
Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

This one of those wines I characterize with the word interesting. A very mature wine and I am glad we did not wait too much longer to consume. The cork was intact with no ullage. The nose a little disappointing which improved somewhat with decanting. On the palette quite enjoyable and a long finish. The wine was not faded or out of balance per se but rather had taken a turn somewhere in the again process.

superb. I got a bottle with slight cork degradation. was kinda bummed . then i drank it. beyond smooth. could get fruity with condecending commentary, but i would rather say we drank the other five bottles with unbelievable speed.

the 1970 Mouton can range from pure nectar, to a wine that is angular, austere, and frightfully hard and tannic. This bottle (one of the Reserve du Chateau bottlings that was mistakenly released by the estate and labeled with the letters R.C., rather... Robert Parkers Wine Advocate. I have had a remarkable number of opportunities to taste this wine. One of the most frustratingly irregular wines I have ever encountered, the 1970 Mouton can range from pure nectar, to a wine that is... Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.
