"This truly unique domaine produces some of the most traditional and age-worthy renditions of Chateauneuf and Rhone wines from vineyards that abut the Chateauneuf appellation. Their estate contains a high percentage of old vines Grenache, mostly 60-100+ years of age. The vineyards are worked manually, and as naturally as possible in terms of chemical additions. Pesticides have never been used. Yields are kept extremely low. Composed of 85% Grenache from 60-80+ year old vines, and 15% Mourvedre from 40 year old vines." -Importer

The Château du Mourre Du Tendre is a family estate situated on fine vine-growing land in the heart of Provence. The PAUMEL family has been working the vines here for several generations. In the nineteen-forties, Alphonse initiated a new phase of development and co-founded the Bacchic brotherhood known as Li Coumpaire de la souco. Throughout his life he worked ceaselessly to glorify the vine, wine and the winemaker’s art. In 1962, Jacques took the destiny of the estate in hand, reshaping and expanding it while preserving family traditions. T he vineyard is managed using traditional techniques.
