Mount Veeder Winery Red Bordeaux Blend Napa Valley Meritage 2004
RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.
Mt. Veeder is delicious, I'm on my third bottle (no, not tonight). This is an earthy wine with a full body, but pleasant aftertaste.
Trying this again tonight for valentine's day, 3 years after my trip to Mount Veeder. It is absolutely divine! Berry filled aromas of dark cherries, blackberries, currant and bark. Velvety texture and very big and bold. Could have aged longer. Wonderful complexity and calms a bit down with our steak dinner particularly as we allowed it to open up more. Definitely a fabulous valentines treat!
Big chewy cab. Got aromas of casis, licorice and smoke. Lots of tannin, smooth and lingered but not was a bit rough. Could use soem time to age.
Tasted at the 2008 Wine 2.0 event at Crushpad: A dusty dry cabernet. The flavors of tobacco and leather dominated. Still had some bitter tannins on the finish, which may have dissipated if the bottle had been open longer.

Dark garnet red in color, the 2004 Reserve has very dense and brambly aromas of dark black fruit that are complemented by sweet anise, sage, bay and toasty oak. Loaded with dark black berry fruit and ripe mountain tannins, this wine is rich, supple and dense. Chewy, bigboned and intense, the flavors fill your pallet and continue with blackberry and coffee notes that round out the long finish.
