Mount Brown Waipara Valley Pinot Noir 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

A family owned vineyard on the western side of the Waipara Valley. This is a well-balanced wine with blackberry, cherry flavours and soft tannins. A great accompaniment to game dishes.

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

An intensely savoury, earthy, Burgundian style. Cherry fruit and a smidge of Cola, but far from sweet. One of the best New World pinots I have had in ages.
