Moulin d'Argent Chardonnay Vieilles Vignes 2007

External Review by Prestige Wine & Spirits:

When you think of great estate-bottled Chardonnay from France, most people would expect it to come from Burgundy. Well, this great Chardonnay actually comes from the Loire Valley and is at least half the price of similar Chardonnays from Burgundy. The exotic fruit aromas lead the way to pineapple and quince flavors on the finish.

The new vintage of this perennial favorite French Chardonnay is as excellent as its predecessors. A crisp nose of sun-infused hay and green apple leads to a sharp, fruity mouthfeel that isn't overpowering. The structure is well-balanced and light, and the finish shows fresh fruit and a touch of gentle herbs. Perfect for summer, or any other time of year when summer needs recapturing.

Here is a medium-bodied, unoaked Chardonnay that is so crisp, you will swear you are eating a fresh fruit salad. It is pale gold in color with a light nose and touch of tart lemon that blends perfectly with citrus fruit and apple layers. The silky-smooth feel carries a touch of acidity through for a lasting finish.

A very dry year in the Mâcon, the 2005 vintage had low yields, which resulted in flavor-concentration in the grapes. This bold, young Chardonnay has fresh peach and cantaloupe fruit, making it a delicious evening sipper!

A light, crisp style of Chardonnay. Fresh citrus flavors and flinty notes make this the perfect wine for shellfish.
