Moser Scharding Pinot Noir Sonoma Valley 2005

Member Review by drdebs:

Very, very nice Pinot Noir from the Sonoma Valley AVA. Upon first opening everything was a bit closed, with lots of cranberry and raspberry fruit. Once the wine developed, delectable aromas of cranberry, raspberry, pomegranate, and black tea. More black tea and cranberry on the palate, the fruit remarkably tart with a backdrop of sweeter raspberry in the finish. Pretty good stuff for around $35

With a brilliant garnet color and a stylish, elegant aroma keynoted on fresh cherry and violets bolstered by notes of spice cake and sweet oak, the wine is approachable and food-friendly. Its texture is supple and fat, its flavors have fine ripe fruit notes of black cherry and strawberry, with an earthy mocha note to fill it out.
