Medium ruby-red color. Aromatic nose of black cherry, gunflint and leather. A distinct step up in flavor intensity over the basic Gevrey villages, which lacked middle-palate texture and seemed a bit pinched. This has a rather supple, harmonious texture and enough finishing flavor to support the oak. Late note of bitter chocolate.

While this is quite tasty with a nice nugget of complexity at the wine's core, this was perhaps the most visible example of having been affected by the rains. It's supple to the point of being almost without structural interest despite the complex flavors.
