Morro Bay Split Oak Estates Sauvignon Blanc Sur Lie 2012
This wine gets into my accidental food pairing Hall of Fame. I originally paired this with my shrimp alfredo dinner. It went ok. But later in the evening I still had some wine left and started munching on Garden of Eatin' Chili-Lime tortilla chips and wow. what a pairing. the lime of the chips mixed with the sour citrus of the wine was a perfect match. I highly recommend this pairing. One other thing is the acidity is razor sharp to the point of possible heartburn when paired with something else highly acidic.
I just "found" this wine last week while on a trip to San Luis Obispo County. I also paired it with a shrimp pasta, but used the wine in the sauce and added fresh lemon juice with fresh tomatoes and parsley (a touch of garlic too). It was fantastic. I agree that it would go well with lime too. I enjoyed the subtlety of the wine, I found it to be a refreshing change from a typical Sauvignon Blanc. I will be buying a case of this wine!
