What to Expect

Barbera is one of the classic Grapes of Italy's Piedmont region, though it is popular throughout much of Northwest Italy and has gained a following in California. Searing acidity has been a trait of Barbera though modern viticultural techniques and warmer regions have tamed the acidity, resulting in medium-bodied wines with bright, red fruit tones that feature hints of violets, earth and plum with just a whisper of tannin.

Winemakers Notes

A Northern Italian style red softened by malolactic fermentation. It is filled with herbal and mineral notes. A great wine with acidic foods like pizza, spaghetti and salsa. This wine also pairs very well with strongly flavored ethnic cuisines.

Reviews

Notes of plum and butterscotch permeate this baby, with a very fun barbeque, charcoal and cherry component on the finish. Tasty stuff!
