Moro Emilio Ribera del Duero 2009
Emilio Moro, the founder of Bodegas Emilio Moro, was born in Pesquera de Duero, a wine area of time-honoured traditions, where some of the flagship wines of the Ribera del Duero appellation are now produced. It was in this year that the winerys first vineyard, Finca Resalso, was planted.
RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.
The nose showed rich dark berry, blueberry skins, brown sugar, vanilla and a whiff of gravel dust and hints of barnyard. On the palate, it was feminine and elegant with an unexpected weightless sensation complimented by focused ripe fruits and hints of holiday spice. Very young but impeccably balanced. It finished fresh but with berry extract saturating the senses. (92 points)
For the 2009 Malleolus Ribera del Duero, the wine is 100% Tempranillo that is a nice deep purple color in the glass. The nose is somewhat fruity, with notes of blackberry and plum, with some notes of green grass, some toasted oak and a hint of minerality. The taste has some lovely tart cherry up front that quickly transitions to some lovely leather notes and flavors of green grass, as the wonderfully structured tannins lead to a long, smooth and delicious finish. This wine is just incredibly well structured, it makes me want to drink this wine all night long! Bis zu 75-jährige Tinto-Fino-Reben werden für den Malleolus verwendet. Ausdrucksstarkes Bouquet, schwarze Beeren, Kaffee- und Teeraromen, Tabak, schwarzer Pfeffer und mineralische Noten. Am Gaumen enorm komplex, finessenreich, cremig und mit bestens eingebundenen Tanninen.

Ripe cherry color, deep with a garnet rim. A wine with a very intense nose which is predominantly black, jammy fruits, balsamic notes and aromatic oak. With outstanding spicy aromas of clove and coffee, and hints of clayey minerals. On the palate it is powerful, concentrated and well-balanced. Secondary aromas of spice, black fruit and aromatic oak appear again. The feel in the mouth is velvety with excellent integration between fruit and wood.
