Morgenhof Morgenhof Estate Simonsberg-Stellenbosch Sa 2004

Winemaker's Notes:

Morgenhof Estate wine is the flagship of the eponymous estate and a blend of
65% Cabernet Sauvignon 25% Merlot 6% Malbec 4% Cabernet Franc. The bouquet
exhibits powerful notes of black fruit, with cherries and blackberries to the
fore, and notes of red plum. On the palate there are hints of tobacco,
indicating the beginnings of maturity, along with hints of dried fruit, cassis
and soft red fruit. Although a substantial amount of new oak has been used the
wine is sufficiently concentrated to absorb it comfortably. The tannins are
ripe, the acidity in balance, and the finish long.

Great wine,a lot of herbs. Goes perfect together with duck and wild mushrooms.
