Moone Tsai Napa Valley Chardonnay 2009
Gorgeous and concentrated, the nose of this straw-gold Chardonnay opens with aromas of honeyed Asian pear, light caramel and crème brulee. The weighty, creamy palate is balanced beautifully by a fresh acidity, and flavors of golden apple and cream soda linger long into the finish. Careful use of oak frames, rather than overwhelms, the elegance of this wine.
RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.
In a word...Wow! This wine has balance, grace, richness, complexity, and liveliness. Aromas of spiced pear and baked golden apples along with a nice touch of caramel. The palette's creaminess is balanced out by wonderfully fresh acidity. This is one of those wine's that will wake you up and take a second look at a grape you thought had nothing new to offer!
