Moobuzz Pinot Noir 2007
This wine is brick red with a light garnet color. The aromas are rich with rose hips, clove and jammy raspberry aromatics. The palate is _eshy and rustic with ripe Rainer and sour cherry notes, light rye, and jasmine, with generous sappy French oak _avors on the _nish. This wine represents the best Monterey County barrel lot of our 2007 vintage. The wine was aged exclusively in French oak for 10 months and hand selected to create this special bottling.
Editorial Reviews for Moobuzz Pinot Noir
Smells fruity with orange, almond, and sweet fennel tones in balance. This is a bit soft on entry and through the mid-palate. It gains a bit of sweetness in the mouth that gives it some weight but lacks much definition. It finishes cleanly with flavors that recall the aromatic, perhaps with a bit of sweet apricot added in, and a hard, steely finale. There’s nothing really wrong with this wine, though it lacks much to distinguish it. A pleasant wine well suited for the cocktail our or a casual dinner. 83pts
The aroma is kind of flat, some bubble gum and peach. The mouth is a mixture of dull ripe fruit and metallic elements.
Slightly plastic tinged apple aromas. Flavors are sweet and citrusy with a sharp petroleum flavor.
Tart overripe fruit nose - bits of banana in there. Mealy chemical flavor with an orange tinge. Interesting but overall not too appealing.
It's an alright Pinot for not much money. It's a little spicy for my taste and I can think of better Pinots I would go for first.
Entirely too spicy for my taste in a Pinot. Medium in body and an overall disappointment.
