“Oh Lord stuck in Lodi again” sang John Fogerty in desperation. But in this case it’s a good thing! This brambly fairly large-scaled Lodi-sourced Zin has lot of rich up-front fruit but also the structure to support it. A favorite with BBQ sauced meats red or white.

This fantastic old vine Zinfandel from Lodi is an absolute blockbuster of a wine. It has a lively nose of crushed blackberries with a slight hint of pepper. In the mouth, it develops into a rich, layered fruit bomb. Delicious flavors of blueberry and mocha fill you mouth, while subtle, toasty oak rounds out this giant of a wine. Some of the lush fruit, along with just enough fine-grained tannin, carry through the long, seductive finish. Drink this with some sweet and spicy beef pot stickers.

Zins from Lodi tend towards the more fruit-driven style. Just a bit lighter than most, but this wine still retains the traditional great plum and raspberry tones. Mid-weight tannins round out the finish very nicely. Try it with BBQ ribs or spicy Moroccan lamb sausage.

An elegantly structured Zin with concentrated, freshly-picked berry flavors. The perfumed aromas alone are worth the price of admission. On the palate, yoursquo;ll find red raspberry, dark cherries, strawberry and an underlying savory, smoky note. Loads of fruit on this full-bodied red, making it an ideal choice for spicy food or a bar of dark chocolate.

This affordable wine is made in a more sophisticated style; rather than going over the top with the alcohol and tannin, this wine is softer and more approachable. Bright raspberries and spice waft up from the glass and continue in a line all the way to a finish that has loads of pepper and sweet fruit.
