Vibrant cherry red in color, the nose exhibits sweet red berry fruit and perfumed floral aromas. The palate is soft, with cranberry and strawberry fruit, and is balanced nicely with spicy toasted oak and fine tannins. The resulting palate has a delicate structure with length and complexity. Pair this wine with roast chicken stuffed with wild rice and cranberries.
Always a winner; medium-bodied with bright red raspberry and black cherry notes, layered with light spice and a touch of oak.
Rarely do you find a domestic Pinot Noir of this caliber at such a low price! Light bodied, but with a complex array of fruit, floral and spice notes: black cherry, ripe strawberry, violets, sandalwood and cloves. Well-balanced, with silky tannins, just begging to be paired with grilled tuna or mushroom risotto.
Some say a certain movie created the "Pinot Noir Shortage." Others point to global warming (for everything). Consequently, many producers have begun to source Pinot Noir from Corsica to Moldova, thinking you won't notice the difference. But there continues to be something special about California Pinot that can't be recreated in a lab or some far-flung country better known for car chase scenes in a Bourne movie. This is one of very, very few Pinot Noirs under $15 that is worth drinking. Ripe Bing cherries, a touch of spice, smooth, velvety mouthfeel, and a long, haunting finish - this is why people spend $30 on Pinot, but you don't have to - at least for now.
