Quatro 2009 - 90 points, Wine Enthusiast/ Always one of Chile’s best values. Smells sweet and smoky on the nose, with prune, hickory and spice aromas. The palate on this four-grape blend (Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Syrah and Carmenere) is saturated and meaty, while flavors of blackberry, coffee and plum are lush and finished with toast and spice. Pour this for a big group and nobody will be disappointed, especially if you’re the one paying the bill.
/ Fleshy and soft, with forward plum and dark cherry notes backed by a hint of briar on the finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot and Carmenere.
Quatro 2007 - 89+ Points, eRobertParker.com/ The 2007 Quatro is a blend of 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Malbec, 25% Carmenere and 15% Syrah. Purple-colored, it has a complex bouquet of cedar spice box, black currant, blackberry and a hint of blueberry in the background. This is followed by a layered wine with good depth and concentration with enough structure to evolved for 1-2 years. Drink this excellent value from 2009 to 2015.
/ Ruby-red. Spicy cherry and cassis on the nose, with a suave dusting of mocha and baking spices. Fleshly, chewy red and dark berry flavors are braced by zesty minerality, with the finish displaying good spicy persistence. This is a dead ringer for Bordeaux.
The beautifully neat vineyards of MontGras, in the locality of Palmilla, Colchagua, VI Region of Chile, represent the concrete testimony of the development and the desire to do things right that have always characterized the Gras brothers, Hernán and Eduardo, along with partner Cristián Hartwig. This wine is brilliant red with hints of bay leaf, herbs and spicy blackcurrants on the nose, typically Chilean in style. The palate offers blackcurrant, cassis and blackberry, soft tannins with lingering spicy fruit and a firm finish.
