Chardonnay 2009 - 88 points, International Wine Cellar/ Light gold. Shy aromas of nectarine and nutmeg are complicated by a leesy element. Juicy and fine-grained, with a silky texture to the pitfruit spice flavors. A very nicely balanced but reticent chardonnay with well integrated acidity and a dry, nervy finish.

Viña MontGras, in Chile’s Colchagua Valley, was established in 1992 by brothers Hernán and Eduardo Gras, together with their partner Cristián Hartwig. The fruit of a mission to produce estate-grown wines of exceptional quality and originality, the MontGras estate today encompasses over 200 hectares planted to vine in the heart of Chile’s wine-producing region. Since the first harvest in the early 1990s, MontGras wines have earned over 200 medals and awards worldwide, garnering international critical acclaim. Santiago Margozzini serves as head winemaker. Production Area Chile’s Colchagua Valley, located between the Coastal Range and the Andes. Grape Varieties 100% Chardonnay Vinification Grapes are hand-harvested in late March. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. After the maceration period, 40% of the wine is aged for five months in French oak barrels. Color Deep straw gold Bouquet Sweet aromas of ripe pineapple, apricots, and nuances of vanilla and toast. Taste Richly structured, this elegant Chardonnay has well balanced flavors of pineapple, peaches, and pears, concluding in a creamy vanilla finish. Alcohol 13.8% Serving Suggestions Perfect match for roasted chicken, grilled seafood dishes, pork tenderloin, turkey and hard cheeses.

Chardonnay Reserva 2009 - Wine Spectator/ A bright...style, with friendly yellow apple and melon notes, followed by a lively clementine-tinged finish.

/ Light yellow. Smoky peach and melon aromas are clean and incisive. Vaguely sweet melon and pit fruit flavors are gently supported by tangy citrus zest, finishing with good sappy length. I like the lack of oakiness here.
