Very pronounced aromas of leather, earth, some berries. Pretty viscous due to high alcohol content at 14.5%. On the tongue- quite acidic, peppery, a bit of earth but not as much as in the aroma. Some cinnamon. Again, some fruit but not a lot. Tastes of alcohol. Burns the back of the throat. Finish isn't very long. Kind of so-so. Probably won't buy it again.

Antu Ninquen Syrah 2009 - 91 points, Wine Spectator/ This dark, ripe red delivers jammy layered flavors of plum paste, fig and kirsch. Full-bodied, with well-embedded acidity and fine tannins, joined by hints of spice box, flint and olive on the long, driving finish.

Antu Ninquén Mountain Vineyard Syrah 2008 - 89 points, Wine Enthusiast/ ...snappy palate full of fresh acidity, firm tannins and dark berry, cola and vanilla flavors. Finishes oaky and charred, with coffee and bitter chocolate flavors.

/ Our reviews fro this fruit-bomb of a Syrah have been consistent over the years. The wine is intense and grapy, and it gives your palate a pounding as it delivers boysenberry and other rich black-fruit flavors. Heavy oak treatment results in coffee and chocolate on the back end. Good in a muscular way, but would benefit from more refinement and structure.

Antu Ninquen Syrah 2007 - 90 Points, Wine Enthusiast/ This wine seems to get better each year. The 2007 is potent and minty on the nose, with big fruit and pastry accents. After it settles it delivers rich, deep, dark flavors with herb, mint, spice, pepper and cardamon accents. Intriguing New World Syrah. Big and lusty.

Antu Ninquen Syrah - A Best Value, Parker's Wine Bargains/ Offers up cedar, wood smoke, scorched earth, and blueberry aromas that jump from the glass. On the palate, it has attractive, savory flavors.

Antu Ninquen Syrah 2007 - 88 Points, Wine Spectator/ Round, with a velvety mouthfeel and enticing black cherry, plum, fig and vanilla notes. There's nice integrated toast on the full-bodied finish.
