What to Expect

Pinot Grigio is one of the world's most popular wines. Also known under the French moniker "Pinot Gris", and even the German "Ruländer" among others, Pinot Grigio is a chameleon of a grape. It is produced in a range of styles, from the light fruity Italian style that has gained popularity, to a more mineral, flinty rich wine favored by the French - particularly in Alsace - and emulated by many in the new world.

WINEMAKING
Pinot Grigio’s gray color creates unique winemaking challenges. The fruit is gently destemmed, then sent straight away to the press. Unlike other grapes, which are gently pressed, the Pinot Grigio is simply rotated, then held in place. Even the lightest press would add too much colorfrom the skins to the juice. The weight of the fruit crushes the fruit below, releasing the delicate, ester-filled juice. read more...

Reviews

Montevina's Pinot Grigio exhibits a clean, fresh aroma of ripe citrus, pear and peach fruit. Compared to typical Italian versions, which tend to be light-bodied and delicately flavored, it offers rich, round, juicy flavors, with a crisp, lingering finish. This delightful, distinctive white table wine will beautifully accompany all seafood and poultry dishes, as well as lighter pastas and mildly flavored cheeses.
