Tight on the nose with some BBQ spice and oystershell minerality layered under perfumes of fennel seed and flowers. Much more open in the mouth than the nose would suggest with a hint of sweetness helping to frame transparent raspberry and strawberry fruit. This is classic mid-weight Sangiovese. A bit simple today but with lovely fruit the superb structural blanche that is the hallmark of the 2010 vintage. Elegant and pretty 91pts
