Add your reviewOne of my favorite vineyards in Chile. I have now had the '08 and the '06 and have purchased several bottles of both vintages. I prefer the '06 but it is mostly probably because it has aged slightly longer which is amazingly noticeable in this wine. This vintage still seem young and closed off. Still with the hints of black pepper that crescendos into the finish but not as much pizazz as the older vintage. I would hold on to this baby a few years. It won't disappoint!

Opens nicely, with hints of olive, earth, rubber and leather. The palate is juicy and lively, while flavors of coconut, toast and black fruit meld together in good fashion. A fresh, clean style of Syrah thatrsquo;s forward but not hard or tannic.
The 2008 Alpha Syrah is purple/black in color with an alluring nose of smoke, game, mineral, underbrush, and blueberry. Medium- to full-bodied, succulent and chewy on the palate, this lengthy effort is likely to evolve for 1ndash;2 years but can be approached now.
Winemaker's Notes:
Die tiefrote Farbe mit violetten Reflexen spiegelt sich sehr schön im Glas. Der Wein weist eine ausgewogene Balance von reifen Früchten und Holz auf. Ein voluminöser, wunderbarer Abgang. Ausbau: 12 Monate in französischen Eichenfässern. Expovina Zürich, Internationale Weinprämierung 2010: «Silber», 88 Punkte
