What to Expect

Pinot Noir: Responsible for some of the greatest wines on earth - the exhausted red wines of France's Burgundy region. Pinot Noir is a notoriously fickle grape that expresses its origins like no other. It's a vine that needs to struggle to produce great wines but when it does the depth of flavors that range from cherry to cola can be explosive and the wines' bright acidity and gentle tannins make them approachable and widely appealing,

Winemakers Notes

MONTES “Limited Selection” Pinot Noir

Dark deep ruby in colour. The grapes come from the well reputed Casablanca and Leyda valleys. The wine is picked normally at the end of March when the grapes find it perfect ripeness. Using a prefermentative maceration in cold we obtain the gracious and typical aromas of Pinot Noir. Five months in French new and used oak. Intense and elegant nose with predominance of strawberries, and flowery violet hints that all together makes this Pinot a very good and elegant one. In the palate is well balanced, soft tannins, good level of acidity making read more...

Reviews

Bright and remenicent of Burgandy as mentioned before. A great value for a Pinot Noir.

100% Pinot Noir from the Casablanca Valley. With some aging in French oak and a very soft filtering, Aurelio was finally satisfied with this Pinot Noir. Being such a difficult grape to vinify, Aurelio believes this has strong varietal character and will aim for greater complexity in next vintages. Somewhat darker color than the typical Pinots, it has a deeper ruby color. The aroma is that of a Classic Pinot Noir, with very floral notes with hints of violets and berries. To the palate, fine vanilla tastes and a medium body. A very satisfying wine with long, smooth and elegant finish. No need to decant.
