Montes Cabernet Sauvignon Alpha 2005
Medium bodied and mellow - with upfront dark berry. Somewhat lacking in mid-palate and finish, but it is a good wine for the $. It is somewhat more bordeaux-like as it does not have the tannins, mouthfeel and up-front fruit of most California cabs.Add winemaker's notes

Great wine - with a bright cherry and subtle vanilla overtone and an almost Malbec-style smoky finish. This would be a great wine for a thick slab of steak - as well as a good choice to invest in a few bottles to hold over for a few years.
Surprising forward fruit that mellowed nicely after about 15 minutes. A very light oak in the background that lingers for a great finish.
Good round flavor
Another good value wine from Chile. This is a good Cabernet. It is not as heavy as some Cabs but has a great fruit and big enough to go with your favorite steak on the grill or Italian dish.
This is a smooth wine with good complexity for the price. Stands up well with a robust meal.
