Montecil Rioja Reserve 2003
Deep cherry red with russet rim. Clean and brilliant. Spicy notes, vanilla and black fruit, balanced by an elegant touch of oak. Spice and notes of fine aging. Good structure, elegant tannins, and a pleasant, lingering finish. An ideal companion for grilled or barbecued red meat, all types of stew, and spicy dishes. A powerful wine, it also enhances the flavor of fish such as tuna, salmon or cod.
I loved this wine. Beautiful red color, lots of plum fruit flavors, smooth. Montecillo Rioja Reserva 2003.
Nice simple Rioja. Medium body. Smooth and fruity, slightly dry. Nice blend of raspberry, cherry, and licorice somewhat masked with oak on the finish. Solid wine that is a great bargan if you can get deep deal at $6.99.
