What to Expect
Sangiovese's claim to fame is its role as the heart of Chianti, Brunello and many Super Tuscan wines though it is gaining ground as a varietal wine around the globe. When grown in a suitable location the grape's soft tannins, succulent acidity and moderately intense cherry and herb flavors make Sangiovese very easy to drink as well as supremely versatile at the dinner table.

I picked this bottle up at Costco and have to say that I rarely pour out a bottle of wine, but couldn't stand this bottle. It has a wonderful jammy bouquet, but has no body. There was very little taste and it imparted a bitter, almost sour taste on the back of my tongue.
I put it in the decanter read more...
This wine is a nice, very clear cranberry red - far more translucent than I am accustomed to drinking. The nose is ample and gives up bits of pine, clove, pepper and pungent herbs.
In the mouth, though scant in body, this wine's bright acidity is a little overpowering. It really just read more...
Bright cherries on the nose with a bit of herbs. Plum and violets flavors, with good tannins and an herbaciousness towards the end, although the short finish falls short of pushing this into the 90s.
Cedar/oak nose. Light but well balanced. Recommend and would serve. Make sure dish doesn't overwhelm wine.
Not a bad everyday wine! My wine merchant turned me on to it and I served it with spaghetti bolognese (my spicy version) that evening. Little bit in the sauce, little bit in my glass.
Fruity nose (plums) with a hint of maple syrup, sweet initially with chocolate and raisins on the palate, and read more...
An earthy wine with a long finish and a nice cherry and floral flavor. Really enjoyed this wine.
Had this on its own (without food) and found it a bit too dry for easy drinking. I have a second bottle, so will try it again to see if my opinion changes, since the reviews are overall positive. The backing taste is pretty decent, but I just couldn't get behind the wine overall.
I buy this as an everyday wine, The aroma is initially pleasing but a little weak as indicated while tasting. Berries with velvet and acidity and the taste does not linger long. That is why I typically drink this with red sauce pasta. Combined with food really brings out the flavor. That is why I look at it read more...
I am giving this 4 wine glasses at least in part due to the price...very good value. Nose is light and not remarkable. Taste bursts immediately with leather, toast, cherries, some spice, and just a hint of lemon acidity. Complex Sangiovese helped by the Merlot. Good food wine, better than on its own though enjoyable as such.
A good wine at a good value, this pairs well with any number of dishes. At this price I can afford to serve this every week.
Worth a try.
