86/100: Color: Deep dark red. Nose: Dark red fruit. Very strong nose. First taste: Very fruity and sweet, initially. Then the dryness hits you. At first, the tannins really overwhelmed any flavor qualities i noticed, but after the 2nd/3rd taste, it grew on me. I actually liked that mouth puckering feeling from the tannins. The mouth feel was pretty smooth, not very thin. The finish was mediocre, around 10 seconds for me, but I was always left wanting another taste. Near the end of the glass, I did start to get some hints of vanilla that everyone else is talking about, but not as strong for me. Decent cab, but not grr-r-r-r-eat!

Quite dry, with most of the taste hidden by tannins the firsthour or two. but on the second night it really opened up. Vanilla, strawberries and espresso nose. Still dry and tannic, but vanilla and strawberry pie, whipped cream topping and crust included, are all here, with a hint of espresso and tar. Surprisingly long finish for a moderately priced cab. Good value to dollar, but not great on its own.
Beautiful rich red berries with a smooth milk chocolate note in the flavors. Yummy.
Aromatic with black cherry flavors and a silky texture. Managed to be full, open, and airy at the same time.
Smooth, fruity, light tannins. Very quaffable.

Ausgezeichnet!
Focused and elegant, with notes of leather and game running through the black cherry, plum, cedar, sage and tobacco flavors. Firm on the finish, where the flavors build, turning even more complex. Drink now through 2005.
Starts out earthy and leathery before weaving in anise, currant, sage and black cherry fruit flavors. Somewhat muddled in its focus, it is complex and concentrated, perhaps merely in an awkward stage. Drink now through 2007.
Good intensity, balanced toward elegance and finesse, with appealing currant, light oak, tobacco and cedery notes. Comes up shy on depth. Drink now through 2007.
"This stunning blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc boasts a dense<br/>ruby/purple color along with a big, sweet bouquet of black cherries, licorice,<br/>roasted herbs, smoke, and cassis. Elegant, medium to full-bodied, pure flavors<br/>reveal moderately high tannin, but superb concentration and richness. Vieux<br/>Chateau Certan should be one of the longer-lived and most complex wines of the<br/>vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2025."<br/><br/>(Robert Parker - www.erobertparker.com - 30-Jun-2007)
