Light red. Dusty bitter red cherry, licorice and a hint of game on the slightly muted nose, along with a subtle hint of dried violet. Suave, pliant and sweet if not hugely complex, with slightly high-toned red berry and oak flavors leading to a ripe but firmly tannic finish. Iandrsquo;d decant this a couple of hours ahead.

Dark red fruit, flowers, minerals and spices come together beautifully in this serious Riserva. A round, harmonious finish rounds things off in style. Readers will have a hard time doing better for the money. Anticipated maturity: 2010andndash;2017.

WS 92 WA 90 Pts - Winemakers Notes - Made with grapes from a further selection, first in the vineyard and afterward in the winery, this Riserva consists of Sangiovese (90%) and Canaiolo and Colorino (10%). It has excellent potential for aging.

Full-bodied, rich, traditional-style Chianti with intense autumnal character of smoked almond, chestnut, fresh mushroom and ripe fruit. Medium- to full-bodied, with firm tannins and fresh acidity. Decant if drinking now. Best after 2000.

Medium-bodied with a light tint, this is a warm wine full of red-currant flavors and hefty tannins. The finish is long as can be, with a pronounced touch of interesting wood. Very tangy and lean, this may improve down the line. Now itrsquo;s a little closed and lean.
