Editorial Reviews for Mondavi Pinot Noir Napa
Very dark and cola-scented with noticeable alcohol, gentle herb notes, some distinct nutmeg tones and baked black cherry fruit. On entry this is rich and voluptuous with tons of sweet black cherry fruit and a touch of baking spices. The acids are well integrated and the tannins give a very lightly dusty feel to the mid-palate. The wine has some attractive herbal nuances on the mid-palate, with a hint of citrus peel popping out toward the backend. The finish is a bit short but this is holding its alcohol very well. A rich, dense style of Pinot that many will enjoy but it lacks the elegance of Pinot Noir. 88pts
Nothing exciting. Perhaps it's just too young and needs more development in the bottle. Sweet fruity notes, but no complexity. A bit unbalanced. Not what I expect from Carneros pinot noir. - Tasted at Marché Bacchus 1/16/10
Pleasantly surprised by this Pinot.
Not too bad
Luscious and balanced, cherry nose with hints of truffles. Round in the mouth with long finish. A great expression of Carneros Pinot Noir.

A touch earthy and leathery, but the texture is smooth and polished, and the hints of dried cherries and berry are appealing, have some nuance. Finishes with mild tannins. Drink now through 2001.
Intriguing aromas with flavors to match, a smooth and polished texture with elegant, appealing spice, black cherry and herb notes.
Mondavi's Carneros Pinot Noir has been dependable for years, and this one continues the tradition. It's dry and balanced, with cherry, cola, coffee and herb flavors, and has the silky tannins and crisp acids you want in a Pinot.
Robust black cherry fruit takes center stage with silky spices wrapped in vanilla nuances from aging in toasted Burgundy barrels.
Attractive for its range of wild berry, black cherry, sage, tea and spice, itrsquo;s moderately rich and concentrated, but turns simpler and loses its focus on the aftertaste.
Light, fresh and fruity, with lively cherry and strawberry flavors accented by sweet oak notes. Bracing acidity keeps the fruit bright. An elegant wine for drinking now through 1994.
Winemaker's notes:Plum red in color the 2007 vintage is vibrant with considerable substance and structure. Aromas and flavors of dark fruits, black plum and jammy black cherry, merge with notes of spice, herbs and subtle oak. Fine-grained tannins lead to a long, smooth finish. A richly satisfying wine.
