Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

I thought it was over-rated for a reserve cab. I expected more. It wasn't offensive, but it wasn't particularly amazing, either, that it should have been granted any sort of reserve status. Here's to hoping the winemaker selects better lots for reserve in the future. D-{

Wow! Still drinking great in 2008. A beautiful rich, well made bottle of wine. Velvety on the palate with well balanced acidity and tannins. A mouthfull of black and red fruits with some tobacco and leather notes. Finish is long and smooth. Nose is robust and inviting.

Wonderfully rich, noble nose with hints of eucalyptus. Rich red and black berry fruit on the palate with some menthol. Lovely structure and mouthfeel. Great balance and in its sweet spot. Drinking very well presently. 97 pts. 5/26/12

Panicked when I first opened it, because it smelled like bandaids. That happily blew off almost immediately, revealing layers of cassis, pllum, spice, and smoothly integrated tannins. This was a classic Napa Cab, aged to perfection. It may have another year in it, but its beautifully drinkable now so I wouldn't wait.

Weaves together a complex array of ripe, rich currant, anise, smoky oak and black cherry. Dense, concentrated and persistent, with great depth and focus, ending with an amazingly long, richly flavored finish. Best from 2008 through 2018.

The 2004 vintage was the very last in which the Robert Mondavi family was involved with the winery, and it produced the best Mondavi Reserve since the 1996. Comprising 86 percent Cabernet Sauvignon with Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, this is a sensational wine from a classic vintage in Napa Valley. Winemaker Genevieve Janssens has brought new luster to this Napa stalwart, and the winery still has access to some of the valleyrsquo;s top Cabernet vineyards.

An enormously complex and sophisticated wine that combines great flavors with uncommon finesse. Dark, sleek, rich and polished, with a delicious core of concentrated cola, currant, plum and blackberry. Tremendous finish. Best from 2004 through 2014..... Wine Spectator. A Cabernet Sauvignon wine from California in USA. 1999 Mondavi, Robert Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 750ml

A blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Petit Verdot, the 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve, which mostly comes from To-Kalon, has a relatively small production in this vintage (7,500 cases). The wine has a dense purple color and a wonderful, sweet, almost St.-Julien like nose of licorice, red and black currants, cedar, and spice. Medium to full-bodied, elegant, but authoritatively flavored, this wine is still young, rich, and very fine.

One of the ripest, highest alcohol Mondavi Reserve Cabs in memory, this wine is forward in cassis and cherry flavors, and while the tannins are pretty sturdy, itrsquo;s sweet and soft enough to drink now. It definitely has the rich mouthfeel you want in a pricey Napa Cab. But itrsquo;s young; cellar this one until at least 2010.

Bone dry and utterly balanced, with deeply powerful, long-lasting flavors of blackberries and black currants and an intense, but integrated, coating of smoky oak. But itrsquo;s also very tannic. Nothing soft about this wine. As fine a cellar candidate as any Mondavi Reserve in years. Should develop for 12, 15, even 20 years.

A firm, tight, tannic baseline forms the foundation for this intense, rich and concentrated wine, with a mix of currant, cedar, sage, and dusty berry. Well-balanced, with chewy tannins, itrsquo;s an elegant, well-crafted wine. Best from 2004 through 2011. Tasted twice, with consistent notes.
