Food Pairings for Monchhof Mosel-Saar-Ruwer Estate Riesling
quaffable and effervescent when it lingers on your tongue. A sweet, ripe apple/peach/miracle fruit lends its taste to the body and lets the wine stand alone. Have now tried it in tandem with green chili burritos, as well as roasted chicken. Perhaps not the best with the roasted chicken, but the wine really went well with the spicy green chili.
Excellent Riesling. Very crisp and refreshing tasting, not too sweet, and well balanced. Sweet and tart, pale straw yellow, very delicate. Grapefruit, honey, and floral flavors.

This is the entry level Riesling from the famed Monchhof estate. The Eymael family purchased this estate in 1804 at which point the it was under control by the monks of Himmerod. A great family history that includes the great John Jacob Astor, one of New York City's first great businessmen.
Wine Tasting NotesThis wine first feels like biting into a ripe white peach, juicy, rich, creamy and sweet, with a full aroma. Yet the wine offers a great minerality and acidity to balance the sweetness that leaves your mouth watering for more. It is delicious by itself, or with seafood. Its bright acidity tones work well with a variety of cheeses or pastas that have a touch of cream. Serve lightly chilled.
