Mollydooker Shiraz Mclaren Vale Carnival of Love 2006
[97 pts The Wine Advocate and #8 Wine Spectator Top 100]: Carnival Of Love is made from some of the best parcels of Shiraz with incredible density and smoothness. It is exuberant and powerful has a gorgeous black currant cinnamon and raspberry nose and lovely plum & raisin flavours. This is a generous voluptuous wine - an awesome example of the purity that can come from great McLaren Vale Shiraz.
Wow...all I can say is this is a HUGE wine. It's as if a fruit bomb exploded in your mouth. Every possible berry note seems to be present. It has a very long finish to allow you to try and decipher all the different levels. Tiny hint of spice, and a nice caramel note that completes this very complex big, bold, aussie red. Try it, it's incredible
This is a powerhouse of flavors. Mocha, raspberry, coffee, raisin. Its better balanced then the 05, but I love the 05's nose of buttered popcorn.
BIG wine, lots of fruit. Mike's review is spot on. That price (as I see it now in Snooth) of $115 is WAY hig. I paid $66 at Fred Meyere in Seattle.
