A full flavoured wine made for drinking in winter. It's one of those drops that warms the soul and puts a smile on your face as you kick back in your armchair. Not for the faint hearted.

This deep/inky Cabernet starts off very rich with notes of plum, cassis, and graphite. A bit of spice and menthol come off as the wine begins to open up. Soft and elegant on the palate despite its heavy concentration. The medium to long finish is ful... Alex Lallos. Mollydooker 06 Maitre 'D - 91 Points, The Wine Advocate The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon "The Maitre D'" is purple-colored with a toasty, heady nose of black currants, blackberry liqueur, and licorice. This leads to a full-bodied wine with a plush texture, intense black fruit flavors, soft tannins and a finish which becomes slightly narrow. Drink this tasty Cabernet now and over the next 6 years. Mollydooker (the Australian equivalent of "Southpaw"- both Sparky and Sarah Marquis are left-handed) is the label of the renowned winemaking team of Sparky and Sarah Marquis. This is their second vintage following the schism with The Grateful Palate and the end of their involvement in the hugely successful Marquis Philips project. Total case production is 72,000, down from the 120,000 cases produced under the Marquis Philips label. They have also set up their own importing company in the United States.
