User Reviews for Molino Loco Monastrell

Winemaker's Notes:

The Castaño family has 410 hectares of vineyards in Yecla in south eastern Spain. They have steadily improved quality over the last few years and modernised their style. They symbolise the best of what southern Spain has to offer: rich, warm climate wines made from grapes grown at altitude and transformed into robustly modern wines. The Molino Loco wines take their name from the windmill (Molino) that sits on the edge of the family vineyards from where the fruit is sourced. In contrast to other windmills which turn in windy conditions, this particular windmill is “loco”, the Spanish for crazy, as it turns only on calm, still days! The wines demonstrate the superb value Castaño has to offer. This Monastrell is rich and spicy, with a great freshness, balance and vivacity. Drink this with a variety of meat-based dishes or stews.
