Moet & Chandon is one of the most well-known luxury champagne producers in the word. With over 2,500 acres of vineyards and an annual champagne production of 26,000,000 bottles, Moet & Chandon lives, breathes, and, of course, drinks champagne. The House of Moet was founded in 1743 by Claude Moet, but it wasn’t until his grandson, Jean-Remy Moet, took over that the company really took off and became an international luxury brand. Jean-Remy Moet strove to bring the pleasure of champagne to everyone he could, forming partnerships with both French and international clients on a regular basis. When Jean-Remy Moet sold the House of Moet to his son Victor Moet and his son-in-law Pierre-Gabriel Chandon in 1833, the ensuing partnership formed Moet & Chandon. Shortly after the new branding, in 1842, Moet & Chandon released its first vintage champagne, leading the way to even higher-quality champagne. In 1921, they produced their first prestige cuvée under the brand Dom Pérignon, named after a Benedictine monk who was an important pioneer for champagne. The first vintage released for sale was in 1936, and today it is managed by winemaker Richard Geoffroy. Read less

Rich salmon color with strawberry aroma with a touch of dough. Fruity flavors (strawberry and raspberry). Good but not my style.

I was excited to get to taste such a well-known champagne. Toasty bread and biscuit notes alongside citrus. Very concentrated flavors on the palate, I really liked the tight focus of flavors. Quite dry. Sharp, crisp acidity. I liked this wine quite a bit, though it does come with a hefty price.

Light in feel and exceptionally elegant. Creamy in texture with persistent, tiny bubbles. Classic Champagne nose and flavors of yeast, toast, pear, minerals and subtle tropical fruits that seem to gain weight with each sip. Very crisp and clean, the essence of purity. A wine to sip every night before dinner when we become billionaires.

Wafts of seaside air and citrus fruits on the nose. It brings a lovely graininess to the palate with flavours of pear and cream. And the finish goes on forever! A lovely champagne

I really don't think I have enjoyed champagne until I had this. Sure, I'd like a glass here or there to mix with orange juice or on new years or to freshen my palate or celebrate, but I never said, "Now, this, is amazing." Well, this was amazing... I'll quote my friend Drew, "The bubbles cream in my mouth"

Notes of white pepper and an exotic floral bouquet on the nose. Flavors were simple and clean, with hints of anise and lemon while being dominated by crisp pear and mango notes. Ended with a distinct green, vegetal finish.

Bright acidity for being 10 years old drinking well but I see a future in this wine hold for a few years and revisit. nice lemon colour slightly more complex and acidic than the imperial N.V.

This is a classic Dom Perignon vintage. It?s big and fruity initially, a mouthful of ripeness. Then the texture and structure of this dense wine come through. It?s as much wine as Champagne, rich, the apple and fresh pear flavors vying with yeasty

In the 17th century Dom Pierre Prignon the cellar master of the Abbey of Hautvillers in Epernay developed a wine whose extraordinary quality would make him the spiritual father of Champagne and one of the great visionaries of the winemaking world. Dom Prignon longed to produce the `best wine in the world` and there is much written testimony to the success of Dom Prignon's wine with the most noble and wealthy personalities of the era.Dom Prignon was one of the very first producers to assemble wines starting with the grapes as well as the first to master the production of white wines from red grapes to achieve a giant leap forward in quality. Made exclusively from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes from ten Grand Cru vineyards and from the oldest vines at the Abbey of Hautvillers Dom Prignon is produced only in exceptional vintage years.

A bready, mushroomy bouquet announces this handsome, fairly mature vintage offering. Quite effervescent, it displays apple and toast flavors, herb and mineral accents. Itrsquo;s an elegant wine fairly low in acidity and not for long-term keeping, but perfect for drinking over the next two years.

So slick and clean. The best standard-vintage Moeuml;t we have tasted in years. A solid wine that marries the ripe fruit perfectly with the toastiness. Full-bodied, refined and shows a silky texture. Perfect for drinking now, but will age for years.

An assertive, ldquo;wineyrdquo; style Champagne, best for the dinner table. Has ample flavors, a robust, full-bodied texture and a lingering, tangy finish. Has developed nicely since last year.

Starts out round and plush then the structure takes over. Light peach and berry flavors prevail as this plays out on the lingering finish. Give it a little time to integrate but this should develop well. Best from 2009 through 2024. -BS Wine Spectator.

95 points - Wine Enthusiast: "This is a classic Dom Pérignon vintage. It's big and fruity initially, a mouthful of ripeness. Then the texture and structure of this dense wine come through. It’s as much wine as Champagne, rich, the apple and fresh pear flavors vying with yeasty and a tense crispness. Worth aging, it will be even better in 3-4 years." (12/08) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2000 Brut Dom Perignon is a gorgeous, seductive wine that floats on the palate with remarkable grace. Toasty aromas meld into freshly cut flowers, apricots and pears, with sweet notes of mint and licorice that linger on the long finish. This perfumed, inviting Dom Perignon is elegance personified, and in this vintage the wine fully merits its lofty reputation. According to winemaker Vincent Chaperone there is only one disgorgement date for the first release of Dom Perignon, and the 2000 was disgorged over a period of weeks in March and April, 2007, 2007. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2018." (12/08) 91 points Wine Spectator: "Starts out round and plush, then the structure takes over. Light peach and berry flavors prevail as this plays out on the lingering finish. Give it a little time to integrate, but this should develop well. Best from 2009 through 2024." (12/08)
