Moët Chandon & Brut Rosé Champagne Cuvée Dom Pérignon(1995)
Starting at
$223.01 USD
Light yellow. Good, fine and persistent, mousse. A somewhat shy nose of light white and yellow fruit, lemon peel, and a slight nutty touch. Good definition in mouth with more white fruit and good acid. A very classy and charming champagne

- An utterly superb Champagne. This Pinot-dominated blend is opulent yet fresh with wonderful aromatic intensity. It's currently drinking beautifully and will continue to do so for many years to come.

- A scent that sings - it really takes off. Amazingly mouthfilling and so seductive. A brilliant wine and, I think, even greater than the 1990.

I'm a bit of a sucker for champagne but I usually don't spend this kind of money. If you can however, this one is amazing. It's very smooth. Full of flavour with a very elegant finish. No strange aftertaste or any other surprises. If I could, I'd have this for breakfast.

- This recently released wine it still very younthful indeed, with marked acidity and no sign so far of the great depth and tight-knit layers of flavour that develop in Dom Pérignon with bottle age. The strongest impression on the nose is of a broad, crème patissière aroma which for the moment is rather at odds with the austerity on the palate. There is no hurry whatsoever to drink this! Dawdle over your supplies of 1992, then tackle 1993 and only then 1995 - although the 1996 should certainly be worth considering.

- Very green. Real autolysis character - very Dom P, very flattering! Surprisingly sweet on the palate though which jars a bit. Or is this just the richness of the vintage? Certainly this is the easiest wine to drink so far in the tasting... Very persistent mousse. Lots of interesting components all in balance. Quite long.

- To taste Dom Perignon is to discover the unique spirit and style of a truly great wine of Champagne. Every stage of vineyard selection, winemakeing and slow cellar aging is, in itself, a quest for perfection. Cuvee Dom Perignon is made only in exceptional vintage years from two grape varieties from the Champagne region, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The grapes are picked from the very best crus among the oldest and best exposed sites of the region. On the nose, this wine opens with notes of red-fleshed peaches, rapidly evolving into cashew nuts and dried herbs. The aromatic experience finishes on read more...a note of lightly toasted brioche. On the palate, it offers a host of well-orchestrated, precise and full-bodied tastes. The initial density becomes creamy, while the long finish ends on a note of glazed citrus fruit. The unique Dom Perignon style: a rich creamy mousse, fine bubbles, a spirited, crisp opening leading into a broad palette of aromas and tastes, the delicacy of substance itself. Each Cuvee Dom Perignon is cellar-aged for 6 to 8 years. Comes with two elegant non-lead crystal flutes.
