Moet & Chandon is one of the most well-known luxury champagne producers in the word. With over 2,500 acres of vineyards and an annual champagne production of 26,000,000 bottles, Moet & Chandon lives, breathes, and, of course, drinks champagne. The House of Moet was founded in 1743 by Claude Moet, but it wasn’t until his grandson, Jean-Remy Moet, took over that the company really took off and became an international luxury brand. Jean-Remy Moet strove to bring the pleasure of champagne to everyone he could, forming partnerships with both French and international clients on a regular basis. When Jean-Remy Moet sold the House of Moet to his son Victor Moet and his son-in-law Pierre-Gabriel Chandon in 1833, the ensuing partnership formed Moet & Chandon. Shortly after the new branding, in 1842, Moet & Chandon released its first vintage champagne, leading the way to even higher-quality champagne. In 1921, they produced their first prestige cuvée under the brand Dom Pérignon, named after a Benedictine monk who was an important pioneer for champagne. The first vintage released for sale was in 1936, and today it is managed by winemaker Richard Geoffroy. Read less

A well-defined version, with fine balance and texture. This offers a smoky, minerally undertow to flavors of poached apple and pastry, kumquat, ground ginger and anise, alongside a hint of crème de cassis. Long and mouthwatering. Drink now through 2027.

In acknowledgement of the superior quality of 2002, Moët has released this wine well after the 2003. The decision is fully justified, for this is still young. It is impressive, intensely concentrated, mineral, showing tight grapefruit and apple flavors. Excellent aging potential.

Powered by racy acidity, this shows well-structured elegance, partnering rich texture with flavors of quince paste, poached apple, white peach, graphite, almond and smoke. Offers fine focus and length, with a hint of citrus on the lingering finish. Drink now through 2022.

Bright yellow. Smoky citrus and pear aromas are complicated by honeysuckle, sweet butter and allspice. Bright and incisive on entry, offering lively lemon curd and orange flavors that give way to a deeper, musky mango quality in the mid-palate. Showing more depth than the ’02 Dom Perignon right now, which is comparatively shrill. The spicy finish features a subtle smoky quality and impressive persistence.
