Fascinating. Mature notes of mushroom, corrupt cherry and forest undergrowth evoke an aged red Burgundy. Firm and medium-bodied, yet softening and with little effervescence, it fades by the finish, but the bouquet alone is worth the price of admissio... Wine Spectator. Fans of bold wine will love this Champagne. It's made in a full-bodied, assertive style that blends overt toasty, earthy aromas with bracing, dry fruit flavors and a robust but smooth texture. This is the great 1990 DP with an extra 4 years of aging on the lees. It is a youthful wine, light in color, rich and honeyed on the nose. Honeyed lemon on the palate, with toasted brioche, leads to intense, cyrstalline minerality.

Winemaker's Notes:

Varietal Chardonnay, Pinot Noir Category Sparkling Wine Region France : Champagne : Epernay Producer Moet & Chandon Alcohol 12.5% Color: Coppery pink with light orange highlights. On the nose: The aroma of malt rapidly leads into that of well-ripened fruit, nectarine and wild strawberries, complemented by smoky, peaty accents. On the palate: In a paradox that typifies the vintage, concentration and movement vie each other with an affirmation of boldness and authority. The tastes progress with strength-tense, radiant and sharp. The finish is firm, underscored with a slightly vanilla-spicy note.
