Moet & Chandon is one of the most well-known luxury champagne producers in the word. With over 2,500 acres of vineyards and an annual champagne production of 26,000,000 bottles, Moet & Chandon lives, breathes, and, of course, drinks champagne. The House of Moet was founded in 1743 by Claude Moet, but it wasn’t until his grandson, Jean-Remy Moet, took over that the company really took off and became an international luxury brand. Jean-Remy Moet strove to bring the pleasure of champagne to everyone he could, forming partnerships with both French and international clients on a regular basis. When Jean-Remy Moet sold the House of Moet to his son Victor Moet and his son-in-law Pierre-Gabriel Chandon in 1833, the ensuing partnership formed Moet & Chandon. Shortly after the new branding, in 1842, Moet & Chandon released its first vintage champagne, leading the way to even higher-quality champagne. In 1921, they produced their first prestige cuvée under the brand Dom Pérignon, named after a Benedictine monk who was an important pioneer for champagne. The first vintage released for sale was in 1936, and today it is managed by winemaker Richard Geoffroy. Read less

It may be the best selling Champagne in the world but personally I can't see why that is the case. There isn't anything I can see that puts this right at the top of the NV's, the price sits in the middle of them all and I have had a lot better NV's in the past. Lots of bubbles, slightly biscuity and pale straw but its average Champagne at best.

Bold citrus and a sweet balance make this seem almost like Riesling. Easy to drink and enjoy because of its soft texture and lingering fruit flavors. Drink now.

Medium pink with a fine bead. Very fragrant aromas of fresh strawberry and flowers, along with a hint of cake icing. A soft, round rose with supple red berry and orange flavors, gentle acid lift and a velvety finish. This has the fruit to stand up to strongly seasoned foods. - Stephen Tanzer 89 Points

Sweet tone with light notes of strawberry followed by toasted marshmallow; a clean finish.

This round, full demi-sec opens with ripe peach and orange aromas that offer a mouthful of overtly sweet, similar flavors with a soft, frothy mousse. Soft, sweet, spicy notes show on the finish, and though slightly higher acidity, providing a zip and crispness as in good Italian moscatos, would add life, this is a sweet sparkling wine with class.

Straight down the road for type this wine sports the expected blending of table wine vinosity and mild but evident fruit with a slightly yeasty overlay in its mid-volume aromas and while it will not earn points for complexity it does gain them for a foamy and long-lasting mousse and for flavors that make a bow to the table wine side of the genre while not allowing more than a tad of grippy tannins into play. Use it with light finger foods or even a parchment poached salmon fillet. Connoisseurs Guide.

Rich and a touch sweet, exuding citrus and honey flavors on an easygoing frame. Medium-bodied, with moderate intensity, it picks up a mushroom note on the finish. Drink now.
