I was a actually suprised with this wine. I am not as positive about it as the other reviewers and I normally I love Jonathan Newman's choices in wine when it comes to QPR. I find this wine very tight (maybe it could age a little more.) I got nothing out of the nose and the taste was very mild on the tongue. It did have nice tannins on the back end. Still well worth the price, but I actually like the Mockinbird Hill Petite Syrah better.

Great bargain wine. Very yummy.
External Reviews for Mockingbird Hill Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
When David Schlottman was promoted to Senior Winemaker for St. Clement vineyards Ed Sbragia said "David is one of the finest winemakers I know. His attention to detail, his knowledge of Napa Valley fruit, and his knack for coaxing the best flavors out of grapes will be a tremendous asset.” The Quarterly Review of Wines named him Winemaker of the Year in 1997. Now, working with Mockingbird Hill he’s producing the best value Cabernet we’ve seen in a long time, using the Napa grapes that he knows so well. This 2006 is supple, character-laden Napa Cab with just a hint of oak to season the ripe black currant, and dark chocolate flavors. How he does it for under $20 we’ll never know, but we don’t care as long as he keeps doing it. A classic Napa Cab at an affordable price that offers up a charismatic style suitable to the novice as well as the discriminating palate. To put it in metaphors, think of savory coffee, mocha and caramel flavors swirling in a saturated pool of sumptuous black and blue berries. The wine has a velvety texture and culminates with a seductively gratifying finish. Almost as good as you know what. I'll leave the rest to your imagination.
