Moccagatta Barbera d'Alba 2007

Member Review by tulaw:

This is a very good Barbera. Nice acidity and the tannins have been toned down a bit by the oaking. While many wineries have not decided to oak their barbera wines, this wine is a great example of what you can get in an oaked barbera. This wine cost me 17.99 in Total Wine in Irvine, CA, and while I have had better barbera's for less when purchased in Europe, this is a great price for this good of a wine in America. If you like a nice barbera, this is a good one to add to your wine rack. The fruit is very ripe, and although the alcohol is a bit high at 14%, the taste of the alcohol is not predominate in the wine. Give it a try/
