- An excellent shiraz for a guy who hasn't gotten into shiraz simply because it tends to be so overblown. This bad boy is overblown, but it also balances a sense of earth/terroir. And it's BIG. I also think I've found another reason I'm not sold yet on shiraz - the ones I've had, including this excellent selection - are pretty one-dimensional. Like a Petite Sirah. Blockbuster yes. Depth? Not really. For those who love shiraz, this should be on your list .. Doubt I paid $60 for it at K&L Wines in San Francisco though! At least I hope not! I can buy Burgundy for that. The "Savitar" read more...and Blue Eyed Boy are next on the list to try ... (hide)
