Mitolo Shiraz Jester 2012
This is smooth, velvety and appealing for its juicy blackberry and cherry flavors, zinging through the lively, wet earth-tinged finish. best from 2013 through 2018.Add winemaker's notes
Nose: plums, sherry-esque alcohol, moss, but overall quite fruity. Taste: herby, smoky and earthy on the base of the palate, with plummy fruit on the top, all coupled with a blast of unbalanced sherry-like alcohol. A lagging, wet-dog-like finish. Overly tannic and quite underdeveloped, with an unbalanced acidity. Might improve with ageing. Decant an hour before serving, and drink with food.
<Aroma> sweet Shiraz scent, oak <Taste> dry, silky full
The velvety texture drew me in with just one sip. Fruits up front with a finish of anise and something like mocha. I am certain I will drink this again.

Bright purple. Lively aromas of blackberry, cassis and spices. Spicy, bright and very fruity, with good energy to its dark berry flavors. This is far from a stereotypical Aussie shiraz. Finishes with smooth, gentle tannins and lingering spiciness. Offers considerable upfront appeal.
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2009 Jester Shiraz has notes of kirsch, warm blackberries and baking spices with hints of vanilla, anise and tree bark. Full-bodied and with plenty of spicy fruit, it has a medium level of velvety tannins, crisp acid and a long finish. Drinking now, it should keep to 2016+.

The 2007 Jester Shiraz is dark ruby/purple-colored with an alluring perfume of mineral, earth notes, blueberry, black cherry, and blackberry. Smooth-textured, ripe, and intensely flavored, the wine conceals enough structure to evolve for 4-6 years. The finish is lengthy and pure. Tasting Notes - Jester Shiraz is a blend of grapes from other sections of the Mitolo McLaren Vale vineyard. Depending on the vintage, the components vary, but all have a common theme of more upfront fruit to make a more approachable wine style. The wine has fresh, vibrant, lifted and pure aromas and flavors, with attractive cassis, pepper and licorice on the nose with a hint of nutty spice. The flavors explode with blackcurrant, plums and cinnamon layering over silky tannin and superb length.
