Mission Estate Winery Syrah Hawkes Bay 2009

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

Toasty, cocoa, white pepper and pretty clear wild raspberry and redcurrant fruit aromas on the nose here. Cool and tense on entry with a fine elegant and fresh feel. This is really transparent with gentle meatiness backed up by soft berry fruit. Tannins here are really fine, ripe, small yet tense, though a bit more flavor intensity wouldn’t hurt. This seems a touch closed, but I can see this peaking early. It’s a bit short and a bit raw on the finish. 88pts
