Misiones de Rengo Carmenere

External Review by eVintner Wines and Spirits:

Intense, deep violet-red in color, the nose of this Carmenere is expressive and intense, with aromas of wild flowers, coffee, a bit of smoke, and a subtle note of mocha. Good attack on the palate, with sweet, delicate, soft and well-rounded tannins. Good balance between fruit and oak; with aromas of chocolate, toffee and sweet spice such as cinnamon. Enjoy it with cheese and beef empanadas, lamb, lentils, beans, and pasta with all sort of sauces, also with strong chesses.

From the work on the vines, through the selection of the grapes, vinification and bottling, the process follows a philosophy marked by rigorousness and respect for the primary ingredients that make good wine: the grapes that lend origin and resulting in the tremendous quality that has won awards in Chile and abroad. Our winemaking philosophy can be summarized with the following words: in each Misiones de Rengo wine we seek to express and display all of the characteristics and qualities of the soil and environment of its origin. We strongly believe that the essence of a wine is in its terroir (its soil, climate, people, and vineyards). We also believe that we should intervene as little as possible in the winemaking process; it should be as natural as possible and human limitation should only serve to heighten the qualities brought by the grapes from the vineyard. .
