Bright crimson color. A swirl of the glass reveals a well balanced oak, vanilla and ripe fruit nose which I really like. Raspberry, strawberry in the mouth with a brief acidity shortly afterwards followed finally with a buttery finish. Very similar to the Mark West 2010 California Pinot Noir, but with more subtle oak notes and lighter body. I can't decide which one I like better, but I think the Mirassou has the better nose. The Mark West may have a slightly better mid palate. Both have a similar finish but a previous bottle of Mirassou seemed to have a silkier, longer finish. Both are exactly what I've been looking for in an inexpensive Pinot. Straight forward, soft but not very complex, at least to my inexperienced palate.
Basic inexpensive Pinot Noir. Not a bad generic Pinot Noir to have around

Intense flavors of strawberries, pomegranates, and cherries. These primary flavors are enhanced by secondary flavors of floral and spice characters. This wine is at its best if enjoyed within a year of release, but should be able to age in the bottle for up to three years.
