Fruit nose, nice flavor, smooth finish. Pretty thin though, similar to rose' to me. Transparent red. Read more
It may sound strange for such a value-priced bottle, but I have discovered one of my favorite reds in Mirassou's pinot noir. Read more
Fairly light red color. Very pleasant quaffer. Very soft tannins and acidity. Black cherries. Fresh band-aid. Some chocolate. Light body. Read more

2007 13.5% ABV Pinot Noir 750mL $8.99 Hot at first pour, leading to a woody/bark-like aroma with slight hint of chocolate after sufficient aeration. Rich purple hue to a garnet at the rim. Hints of cherry with a smooth finish. Little body and little mouthfeel. Prefer a pinot with more pepper, however, a great wine wine at this price.
Very overwhelmingly tart at first taste, but the smooth after bite made me want to have another glass. It paired well with cheese and crackers.
A bit of body. Some cherry and plum just as claimed. A tad after taste with a slight kick. If you can't afford a better wine this is ok for company that's not too particular. It tries and almost gets there and doesn't offend. A good back-up or second wine for a long meal of meat or pasta.
External Reviews for Mirassou Vineyards Pinot Noir California
The Mirassou family started making wine in the late 1800s, earning them the distinction of being the oldest winemaking family in America. This Pinot Noir, coming from the cooler region of Monterey County, exhibits the Mirassous' expertise. Bright raspberry and red currant flavors explode on the palate, while underlying notes of spice, earth, and smoke create a lasting finish.
Winery notes: The Mirassou California Pinot Noir is made with carefully selected California fruit from several regions including Monterey County and Sonoma County. The California appellation allowed the winemaker to choose the best fruit from each region which acts as the foundation of this fruit forward style of Pinot Noir. Our winemaker working in close partnership with the viticulturists created an intensely flavorful Pinot Noir that reflects the terroir of these regions.
